On the way to class today, I injured my knee. I’m not sure what happened exactly. I just stepped off the metro and suddenly my knee hurt. I ended up being late to class because I had to limp there.

Today was back to school as normal. Honestly, I found it a bit difficult to really focus on French. It was like everything was being filtered through a wall. All the words sounded muffled and strange. It was like I hadn’t just spent the last 3-4 week studying French. I think this might be connected to study and test habits. Often times, students study so that they can pass a test. Then, after the test is over, their brains shut down and they begin the process of forgetting what they studied.

After class, I decided to go with my classmates on a tour of the city along the Seine river. Yes, it was kind of ridiculous to do considering how badly my knee hurt. I went anyway. We took a group picture before leaving the school. I’m the fourth person from the left in the back row.

The tour was great. Along the way, my knee stopped hurting as much. But then I reinjured it during the walk! When we got to the Louvre, it started to rain. Luckily, I had an umbrella. It rained off and on for the rest of the tour. Some of the places we visited during the tour were:

  1. St. Michel Fountain

  2. Notre Dame

  3. Louvre

  4. Tuileries

  5. Place de Concorde

  6. Louis the 14th Statue

We might have visited some other places, but I can’t remember right now. I did arrange a short video of the tour. The weather was awful and it was overcast. This led to some rough looking photos. Regardless, I hope you enjoy it!
